THE STORY BEHIND THE KITTY KREW
The Kitty Krew began with three real cats, Monty, Daisy and Kylo, and one simple observation.
They would disappear outside and return looking as though they had been somewhere we knew nothing about. Sometimes one came home covered in dust, while another sat quietly with an expression that seemed to ask:
“Where on earth have you been?”
As an artist, photographer and storyteller, Steve began watching their different personalities more closely.
Monty was the quiet observer, always noticing what others missed. Daisy was gentle and seemed to understand how everyone was feeling. Kylo looked at the world differently and could turn the simplest situation into a moment of mischief.
That little question about where they went became an idea. Perhaps when cats disappear from our sight, they are actually having extraordinary adventures.
Steve began drawing, writing and imagining the places they might visit. Gradually, the three real cats became storybook adventurers, while keeping the personalities that made each of them so special.
That is how the Kitty Krew began.
